Get the Best Grey Wallpaper Online to Elevate Any Space

Whether you’re renovating a space or designing it from scratch, the walls set the tone - so why settle for boring, bland paint with no texture?

Grey wallpaper is one of the best ways to curate a more sophisticated atmosphere with as little effort and cost as possible. It’s so versatile. You can pair it with warm palettes and cool ones alike, bold furniture or minimalist layouts. The possibilities are endless at Painted Paper.

We’ve come up with an unparalleled selection of premium-grade wallpaper to choose from. Every design is made-to-order here in the USA from PVC-free, non-toxic substrates and backed by our satisfaction guarantee. You can select from three unique substrates:

  • Peel-and-stick: As simple as it gets. Remove the backing, position the panel, and press it into the wall firmly. You can reposition as needed. The wallpaper comes off cleanly without leaving any residue, so it’s great for renters or people who change their mind frequently.
  • Pre-pasted: Just wet the backing with water to activate the adhesive, then position it and place it firmly on the wall. It’s still fairly easy for anyone to do themselves, and it has a bit more permanence in humid settings (bathrooms, kitchens, etc.).
  • Traditional: Requires a separate roller and adhesive (most adhesives on the market are compatible) and takes a little more work to install. But it’s the most premium-looking wallpaper we offer. Perfect for commercial settings or permanent home installations.

No matter what your vision may be, we can help bring it to life. Get a sample ordered for your favorite styles and see which one looks the best in person!

Frequently asked questions

Is grey wallpaper a good idea?

Absolutely! You’d be hard-pressed to find a more versatile color for your space. Grey wallpaper works great with nearly every accent color and never dates a space. You get a foundation that holds up as furniture and art change around it over the years to come.

Does grey wallpaper make a room look dark?

It can, but not if the shade matches the space. There are lighter greys such as silver and dove that actually open up a room (especially smaller spaces). Mid-tones can still work well if the furniture and trim provide contrast. Charcoal can be a little dark, but we think it creates remarkable depth and makes lighter objects pop.

What color goes best with grey wallpaper?

Everything. Seriously. Dusty rose and blush can warm up the room, whereas navy grounds the space and creates this wonderfully layered vibe. Mustard and ochre can bring more energy into the area. Even simple white trim is enough contrast to let the grey wallpaper do all the talking.

Which Painted Paper substrate is best for me?

How permanent do you want it, and does the room get humid? Those two questions will help you narrow it down. Peel and stick is the best choice for renters or anyone whose preferences change. However, pre-pasted and traditional wallpaper give a more permanent look and work better in spaces where moisture may be a concern.

Can I hire a professional for installation?

This can be a great way to take the stress out of installation for traditional wallpaper in particular, but peel-and-stick and pre-pasted are fairly DIY friendly with our installation guides to walk you through it.

How much do I need to buy to fill my walls?

Each roll covers a two-foot-wide strip of wall. You can purchase in 13-foot or 27-foot lengths. Our measuring guide will help you figure out how much you need.
